A patient who was 53 years old and experienced a feeling of heaviness in the left side of his abdomen was the subject of this particular case. This could be the result of a number of factors, especially considering that he was receiving treatment for acidity, bloating, and all of these other general symptoms.
After conducting a thorough history, we discovered that this heaviness was steadily developing and was
consistent in nature when he came to us the first time. This was the first thing that we discovered. There was no indication that it was something that was coming and going or connected to any kind of meal. On the other hand, when we put our palm on his stomach, we discovered a really firm lump that was sitting very visibly on the left side, right below the chest. We decided to look into him as a result of that. For the initial step, we performed a straightforward ultrasound, which revealed a huge mass that was located on the left side of the kidney and measured around 20 centimetres by 14 centimetres. Following this, a computed tomography (CT) scan was performed, which revealed the mass in greater detail. The CT scan revealed that the mass originated from the left adrenal gland and was within close proximity to the stomach, the pancreas, the spleen, and the left kidney.
What exactly is the adrenal gland? Currently, the adrenal glands are bean-shaped glands that are located on the top of the kidney tissue. Even though they appear to be quite little and unimportant, they are, in fact, one of the glands that play the most significant role in our bodies. When we are competing in adventure sports or watching the Indian Premier League final, we never stop talking about the rush of adrenaline that we get. At this point, what exactly is adrenaline? Our heart rate quickens as a result of the hormone adrenaline, which also prepares our bodies for a response that can be described as either “fight or flight.” This was conceived with the intention of heightening the clarity of our senses. We develop into more. As the body prepares to take action, it gets tense and ready to do so. It is for this reason that it is referred to as an adrenaline rush. In addition, the gland known as the adrenal 
gland, which is located on the top of the kidney, is responsible for the secretion of the hormone adrenaline. Additionally, it is responsible for the secretion of a multitude of other essential hormones, such as corticosteroids and other hormones, which play a significant role in the operation of the body’s metabolic processes.
We proceeded with the surgery, which was an open procedure that included carefully separating the bulk from all of these vital components. We were also successful in preserving the left kidney during the procedure. In spite of the fact that the patient was completely stable throughout the operation, the bulk went away. The final photograph of the mask revealed that it weighed around one kilogram, 620 grams. A final histopathology examination revealed that the patient had adrenocortical cancer. The patient’s recovery was uneventful. He has resumed his work and is currently participating in the routine follow-up.
